The Vegetarian Foodgasms

It all started with Café Coffee Day opening shop in the City of Dreams. Bringing out a generation of youth who swore by their college addas and McDonalds, CCD managed to kick-start a revolution that few would have foreseen back then. Cafes soon became the breeding grounds for new-found love, a cool new hangout for all the college-going kids and inspiring hundreds of restaurants to follow suit. A generation of people who swore by their cutting chai now found solace in the deeply brewed Espresso and Cappuccino.



Just about then, as people professed their new found love for coffee, Tea Villa Café opened up in the humble surroundings of Vile Parle East. What started off as a small joint serving tea from across the country and worldwide, soon snowballed into quite rightly one of the biggest cafes to have graced Mumbai.



Tomorrow, the 21st of August, as they celebrate the completion of their 2nd year in Mumbai, we look at 5 reasons why Tea Villa is the quintessential all-vegetarian café beloved by Mumbaikars: 

1.  The scrumptious all-vegetarian fare:
   Chinese, Mexican, Lebanese, Indian, Burgers, Pizza, Pasta, Cheese Fritters, Samosa, Sandwiches,  Sizzlers, Fondue…and the list goes on and on! Tea Villa serves one of the most extensive menus in town and something which even a hard-core non-vegetarian cannot rue about!

2.  Unbelievably classy ambiance:
   Be it the subtle placid ambiance of their Vile Parle outlet or the uber cool and posh interiors of the Bandra one or the mind-blowing eye-feasting looks of their Versova outlet, each and every branch of Tea Villa Café has a different, novel and classy feel about it. They recently started with a rooftop section in their Versova outlet and buoy, it’s beautiful! Definitely one of the most beautiful places to spend time with your loved ones sipping tea while gazing at the sea and relaxing in the cool breeze blowing by.
   



3. For the love of "chai":
   Going back to our traditional roots, TVC not just offers a plethora of options ranging from Assam Tea to the feisty Masala Chai, it provides you with 150 brands of tea from all around the world. You can have their classic Blueberry or Cranberry flavored green tea or the flavorful Tiramisu tea or the spectacular eye-popping flower teas. 4. Age no bar, love no bar:Unlike most of the café joints which primarily cater to the college-going or professional youth, TVC manages to appease customers coming from all age groups – big or small. Don’t be surprised if you happen to see a bunch of over-zealous kids celebrating their birthdays cutting a waffle cake or an adorable cute couple hanging out in the corner or perhaps a bunch of 20-something chilling out or a group of septuagenarians reminiscing old times over a cup of tea. There is something for everyone!

The Chocolate Fondue at @teavillacafe is perhaps one of the lighter delicacies. Although, you've to be fast at eating this, the chocolate dried up before we could eat. There was no small candle beneath. . 5.  WAFFLES, WAFFLES, WAFFLES! :
   Now, whom are we kidding? Everyone just loves chocolate in any form whatsoever! But Tea Villa's waffles are a class apart!As time passed, TVC has managed to usurp most of its competitors to be one of the favorite places to munch on this delightful dessert. Soft, slightly crunchy bread draped and bathed in oodles and oodles of chocolate, the Tea Villa waffles have a huge list of fan following. Don’t be surprised if you walk into the outlet and see a bunch of foreign nationals and TV actors munching on them!

Tea here, tea there, teabag seats, teacup tables, tea bag ceiling lights; everything at the teavilla cafe's new andheri outlet is self explanatory. These are Waffles though. Not tea. Their excruciatingly sinful and tasty Nutella Waffles. Upclose with drippy Nutella. . . .
